Bit by the Fangasm Bug
So I couldnt resist when I discovered that Syfy was launching yet ANOTHER show that would assuredly grab my attention... Fangasm! Surprisingly enough it is from the same producer that brought you the infamous Jersey Shore (yuck) but dont get turned off by that, give this show a chance, even if it is a small one :P In a nutshell, 7 nerds hailing from varying stereotypes (cosplayers, comic freaks, trekkies, etc) all live together in an LA apartment complex in the pursuit of a common goal; a career opportunity to work for American comic book writer, Stan Lee within his organization. I have come to adore a few characters, while get rather turned off by others (actually just one in particular). My favorite would have to be the ever so quirky Andrew Duvall, who also happens to be the resident trekkie expert. I'm much more of a Star Wars chick myself, but Andrew is so irresistibly dorky you cant help but be taken in by his rather endearing awkwardness. My LEAST favorite so far has got to be Molly McIsaac... I have had a real hard time liking this girl. She is constantly stepping up on this feminist soap box, spatting venomous lines at anyone/anything that might objectify the female body... but then she has no problem stepping into a skin hugging bodysuit all in the name of Cosplay. She doesnt seem to like attractive Cosplayers either. Watch out girls! If you have fit bod', proud of it, and are also into Cosplay, she will probably sear holes into your soul with her gaze! This type of behavior is ONLY acceptable if you dont automatically fall into the category of "sexy" :P ... come on girl, give us a break. You practically fell all over yourself when supermodel Adrianne Curry made an appearance on the show... your mixed signals are a little confusing... get it together, woman! Anyways, on to the rest of the cast. My second favorite on the show is definitely little Dani Snow, she is too cute! Sugar, spice, and everything nice, is the best way to sum her up. And she's a Star Wars fan and acclaimed Harry Potter expert... winning! There is also Kristin Hackett (unfortunately I feel like this girl sort of gets lost in the crowd, so far she is not so memorable, but there is still plenty of time for her to make her niche in the bunch!), Mike Reed (who has this AWKWARD sexual tension with Molly, he's actually a really cool dude and quite into her, but she would rather waste time making him feel guilty over even glancing at other girls even though they arent dating, instead of actually exploring anything beyond friendship... Molly! Again with the mixed signals! Quit playing games, yeesh!), then there is Paul Perkins who is nothing short of NICE, and then the comedic Sal Fringo. Overall I really enjoy this show, but I can definitely see where SallyAnn Salsano brought in the influence of Jersey Shore and perhaps borrowed a few ideas from The Big Bang Theory of TBS. In any case, if you're a nerd, a fan of nerds, into Star Wars, Star Trek, Comic Books, Harry Potter, or anything else you might think would be relevant... you will probably dig this show. Check it out! See for yourself:)

GoGo: Fluffies vs Boots
Normally I wouldnt care too much about this as it really IS just a matter of personal preference, but nowadays it seems to have been taken to a whole different level; a matter of PROFESSIONALISM and how seriously you are taken. So here we have the great debate; Fluffies Vs Boots.
Some of you may be scratching your heads and asking... "Wtf is fluffie?"... a "fluffy" is simply a faux fur leg warmer/boot cover, a fashion trend that reigns supreme in not just the gogo world now but the EDM culture in general. The thing of it is though, it wasnt always just a TREND. Fluffies actually serve a functional purpose in the world of dancers believe it or not, but sadly, most dont even know what it is and will blink at you blank faced at the mention of it, totally clueless. So what is this mysterious function? To blurr the feet while dancing! Its a simple but sneaky visual effect. Thats right my friends... its not just give the appearance of overly hairy & adorable legs:P. Fluffies are adored by dancers & regular party patrons alike for their "cute" look and versatile, seemingly endless options. So lets talk about their contender,
BOOTS.
GoGo "stacks" or boots have basically become what some would call the "industry standard" because they look more "professional"... but honestly I dont have too much to say on this because personally, and to be blunt, no sugar or fluff added, I find it a little snobby. Dont get me wrong, I OWN THREE PAIRS. I love my boots; they give you incredible balance, comfortability, and height to DIE for. And I understand that because of their intimidating and impressive appearance, they help to set "professional" dancers apart from those who do not intend on being quite so professional at these events, but still. Even now you will see over-achieving fashionistas who really are just regular attendees donning the same footwear so now there is almost no distinction besides whether or not you have an event badge(and how you choose to behave:P).
I guess what I'm trying to say here is I think you should wear what will suit you best; what is going to express your concept the best, and what is going to make you feel the best, because confidence and attitude are everything. The industry "standard" shouldnt be a particular item in your wardrobe, it should be about your overall PRESENTATION. If you carry yourself professionally, that alone will set you apart from the rest. And if you dont know what I mean by that, then you probably dont even need be bothered with it anyway:)

*SCREECH* - HOLD ON!
So here I am, enjoying my bright and early morning, cup of hot coffee in hand, my newest recorded episode of Ghost Mine playing on the t.v. to get me caught up, while surfing the web to read other's opinions of one of my obvious favorite t.v. shows, Heroes of Cosplay, when I stumbled upon this article by Comics Alliance. As I read, for the most part, I was genuinely enjoying the varying perspectives and little tidbits of info regarding the Heroes of Cosplay celebrity figures (particulary focused on Yaya Han), when I came to a screeching halt in the middle of a rather negative critique yet AGAIN about Jessica Nigri. While I was annoyed with Comic Alliance's senior editor, Andy Khouri, and his dismissive view on Jessica's cosplay apparel, basically calling it cheap lingerie (I'm thinking... firstly, she's hot as hell, why wouldnt you want to see her dressed like this, and secondly, shes portraying CHARACTERS, if you want to criticize the way she looks then why not give your opinion to the creators of the characters she portrays lol... really, where is your sense of fun?), but the thing that REALLY caught my attention and sent me into this tirade was A.K.'s statement about her costumes in comparison to the EDM scene; "Jessica Nigri seems to appear mainly in costumes that are virtually identical to those you see at electronic music festivals here in downtown Los Angeles; basically store-bought bikinis or exotic dancer gear the attendees wear because they sweat so much while on ecstasy" .... lets highlight this; "the attendees wear BECAUSE they sweat so much while on ecstasy". Okay so we have highlighted the object of my irritation, so now its time to discuss this. I find it so ignorant and nonchalant of people to assume that EVERYONE in the EDM scene is on drugs, especially when basing this assumption on the attire. Yes, the EDM scene is FAMOUS for its eccentricity, but that doesnt mean its BECAUSE EVERYONE is all twacked out on some substance. The electronic dance culture basically is one big costume party. This is for a few obvious reasons, the first which should be so blatantly obvious... its fuckin' FUN. If you want to attend a concert in your jeans then be my guest, but if I have the opportunity to be as decadent as a christmas tree or Princess Peach from Mario then you better believe I am going to do it. Secondly, have you ever actually attended one of these events? Not for the purpose of being a stand alone snob, but to actually have fun? These events get HOT. Whether you are on stage underneath all those lights or balls to the wall packed tighter than sardines in a can within the crowd, you are going to sweat your skin off. Wearing these "skimpy" outfits actually serves a purpose other than being flamboyant or "sexy", it helps keep the body cool. No one wants loads of material being glued to their skin with their own sweat. Yes, my scathing retort is because I AM one of these people at these events scantily clad, and no it is NOT because I am so tweaked out that I cant remember my first name. As a stage performer, you really appreciate the times when you can wear these bathing suit style outfits because you are in for a long night of exercise (as I'm sure any regular patron would agree!). So keep your nose in the air, Mr. A.K., but you might think twice about making these derogatory statements unless you are going to make it more general (and accurate!). "Drugs are bad, mmmkay?" but they can be found in any music culture, and you making that statement as though it were FACT about the ENTIRE EDM Community, as opposed to uneducated/unexperienced perspective, was a bit ridiculous. /End Rant!

Heroes of Cosplay ~ Season Finale
So I know I'm a little late on this one, but if you are a recent fan of Heroes of Cosplay like me, then you will have more than likely watched the season finale on tuesday night. It was a loaded episode, Yaya Han returned to compete for the first time in 4 years with her fellow cosplayers Monika Lee, and Riki Lecotey aka Riddle, donning the name "Team Atlanta". They took the stage with the theme Alice in Wonderland: Return to Madness, with Yaya as the Queen of Hearts, Monika as the Cheshire Cat, and Riki as Alice. Other notables also teaming up for this competition was "Team LA", comprising of Becky Young, Jessica Merizan, and Holly Conrad, with the lovable theme of "How to Train Your Dragon; Becky as Astrid, Jessica as Tuffnut, and Holly as Ruffnut. The competition took place in Kansas city, which was LESS than welcoming to these dedicated cosplayers. In fact, there were apparently rumors flying around the con that Syfy intentionally planted the two teams at this con so that they would win. To make matters even WORSE, the judges for this con, their identities being just as vague as their pre-judging & final decisions (I literally cannot remember who they were nor find any info on it on the web.. argh) were excessively non nonchalant about pretty much EVERYTHING. Both teams LA & Atlanta put in so much time and effort into their costumes and much to everyone's chagrin, particularly a bewildered Yaya, the judges didn't even budge from their chairs to do a close up inspection of the craftsmanship or details. To be quite honest, all of the judges looked less than thrilled to be a part of the event and couldn't appear to be more disinterested in any of it. But it doesn't stop there. Remember how friendly we were saying Kansas was (is?)? Yeah, about that. Members of the audience and even the other competing cosplayers made it a point to not only make both teams LA & Atlanta feel hideously unwelcome, but also went as far as calling them FAKE. Are you kidding me? You are privelaged enough to be a part of such a creative community where you have the opportunity to not just meet experienced crafters & actors as these two teams, but also LEARN something from them, and you have the nerve (and apparent ignorance) to call them fake? Jealousy is ugly enough, but you don't need to make yourself look like a joke by also calling the professionals less than amateur. The outcome of this hotbed of drama at least had something good come out of it, Team Atlanta scored the Grand Prize, but sadly Team LA was awarded nothing. I was extremely shocked with some of the judges decisions (Excluding Team Atlanta's win) but I guess I shouldn't be too surprised when the judges & Kansas natives in general just seemed to be completely whack. Anyways... its obvious how I feel :P I cant wait for season 2... I hope these guys come out swinging!!!

HEROES OF COSPLAY: My newest tv addiction
So usually when I have the time to sit down and enjoy tv, I am glued to either the Syfy channel watching Ghost Hunters, Paranormal Witness, Haunted Collector, the Travel Channel for Ghost Adventures, and The Dead Files, TBS for The Big Bang Theory, Comedy Central for South Park, etc etc... but here lately, Syfy has snagged my attention yet again with another dramatic show, Heroes of Cosplay. This show indulges in my truly nerdy side and I love love love the eccentric particpants and how it highlights aspects that my gogo dancing and cosplay have in common; a character concept, costuming, being IN CHARACTER, taking it seriously and professionally, and all the fun that comes with it. However, it also highlights something else that I find rather exhausting.... the drama. I know it wouldnt be on television if it werent so juiced up with drama, and it is entertaining, I just sometimes have a hard time differentiating between what is real and what is just scripted. The girls on the show are relentlessly competitive and nothing short of intense. The famous (and gorgeous) Yaya Han is portrayed basically as the "Queen of Cosplay" and excels at setting the bar for stunning, quality costumes and accurate character portrayal, but I am a little confused by her persistent and rather obvious outlook on her fellow famous cosplayer, the bubbly Jessica Nigri. Both women are shapely and beautiful, and seem to take their cosplay just as seriously as one another, but Yaya is heard time and again almost bashing Jessica for her sexual approach to cosplay, talking about having her "boobs out" when I have seen Yaya do nothing but the same. Again, this appears to be just the typical cat banter that I am convinced you will find within just about ANY scene... trust me, the gogo's can be ruthless too, but to me it just seems a little hypocritical. I dont see anything wrong with embracing sexuality at all (obviously), but it definitely seems to raise the territorial nature of competitive females to the point of just being downright nasty. Recently I discovered a video of both Jessica AND Yaya, insisting that they really are friends, but I'm not entirely sure I am convinced. EITHER WAY, hopefully the focus of the show can be more on these BADASS competitions, and less on the cat fights and boobage...(what am I talking about, boobs reign supreme:P!) but seriously ladies, cant we all just get along? Dont laugh... one can hope ♥ !!

My thoughts on current EDM
Thankfully for my stash of personal favorite edm tunes on my Soundcloud, I dont usually have too much to complain about. There are a multitude of producers that are going above and beyond with creativity, trail blazing ahead with new styles while still being reminiscent of where edm came from and keeping those sounds within their current production. My disappointment & disdain I guess comes largely from the finickiness of crowds at times... unless their ears are being mauled by drill and transformer sounds, overloaded by an excess of build ups and drops, they just cant seem to find a way to enjoy the music. It makes me want to roundhouse kick a skull with my fluffies on. What about the melody? People! *GRABS SHOULDERS AND SHAKES* There is so much more to be had from this infinite style of music and you are only selling yourself short. I dont like snobs, and I dislike even more people who are so closed minded. Can we all please finally drop this "genre war" and finally just embrace how fantastically diverse edm is? There are NO rules. Its like an audio playground. To me being picky about genres is like being that "one kid" at the theme park that will only participate a particular type of ride. SUIT YOURSELF SUCKA I'm doin' it all :P !!! I can get down to just about anything, and I appreciate it all. EDM is just too much fun to be that picky about.... so loosen up ya tightwads, lets have some fun;) shaddap & ENJOY THE MUSIC!

Throwback!
I wasn't always tan and blonde/white haired :P I'm actually VERY pale... like, Twilight pale lol (no, I don't sparkle... wait what am I saying... yes I fucking do :P !!!) I loved this look but after a while I got tired of the black hair... its so pretty but doesn't "fit" my personality as much as the blonde I think. And being that pale skinned wouldn't really work for me on stage, I would definitely look like casper haha (≧◡≦) ! Do you think I would make a good vampire? Just kidding;) *rAwr!*

Hello (✿◠‿◠) !
Now that I'm done bedazzling the interface of my blogs I can actually introduce myself... Hello :P !
For the sake of not repeating stuff I've already written, theres more detailed information on who I am/what I do here on my FAQ's page. For those of you who have already scoped that out, I'll go on ♡! I've already been asked a few times about the dancing, so I'll just elaborate on that. I GoGo dance for EDM Events & Festivals with my team I own and manage, the DIGITAL DOLLS ♥ Heres a few pics of me all dolled up:P

That first one is gimungo lol! but I wanted to include it because it is from my first event ever and still to this day one of my FAVORITE events... Spring Awakening 2010 in Congress Theater before it was Festival...I got to GoGo dance for Black Sun Empire, Above & Beyond (who you can see in the background in front of the screen!), and Benny Benassi ❤ it was an AMAZING night! To top it off it was also my birthday weekend haha... cant top that now can ya!? ;) !
Now before the more judgmental ones of you go off on a tangent with rude/hateful comments, please stop before you make yourself look like a snobby ignoramus. There is ridiculous confusion between GoGo Dancers & Strippers (my favorite jab people like to throw at dancers like myself). Please also take note, I am *NOT* bashing strippers. I am friends with several and they are wonderful people. I do not believe in making harsh judgements on people based on their appearances or the choices they make in their lives... my opinions/friendships/relationships unlike a great number of people are not based on what I can gain or how it will make me look... they are based solely on my interactions with each other. "Friendship should be founded on the expectation of NOTHING in return." [Me]. You may not carry the same life philosophy, but you can at least be respectful. After all, you came to MY page :P So anyways! GoGo dancers are often viewed as glorified strippers but it is a silly and highly inaccurate perception. GoGo dancers do not strip, do not often dance with poles (I have seen this done only a rare number of times), and unless you work at a very established club on a regular basis, do not bring in the kind of money that a stripper does. To be quite honest GoGo dancing for most unless you are as lucky as the latter, is more of a financial cost as opposed to gain, and is fueled primarily by passion for dance and EDM. There are varying degrees of this and how individuals/groups prefer to portray themselves, but I will save that perhaps for a different time. Myself personally, I obviously do it because I LOVE EDM. It is my life. I dance to it, work out to it, my boyfriend is a producer and I am learning with him, and I know more about the details of this style of music than the average shmo'... (not bragging here but its true, I dont know this stuff to sound snobby, I just know it because I am immersed in this music 24-7, it is my love ♥!) this style of music has impacted my life so positively in so many different ways, I just dont know what I would do without it :) ! To those of you who are unfamiliar/new to EDM, feel free to check out my Earstacy Blog... its still pretty new just like this one but its where I post my favorite/current EDM picks and other news!
So anyways I think that is enough about me for now... finally a face with the name :P ! I'm off to stuff my face *fat n' sassy*... Ciao!
xx!

Ciao!
xx!
